Origins ~ There is a great story to the establishment of the Yet-Sen Mansion. This building used to belong to the US military, and was then owned by an old doctor whose family emigrated abroad. The founder of the restaurant, Mr. Day Shen-Tun, was the first to see it and fell in love with it. He had the idea of turning into a private venue for guests, with a courtyard in front and a pool next to it. He believed it could be like a paradise and that it would be great to share the homely atmosphere with family and friends.

THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE OLD HOUSE HAS BEEN A MAJOR EFFORT.

The Yet-Sen Mansion is modeled on the former residence of Song Ching-ling, the wife of Dr. Sun Yet-Sen, in Shanghai dating back to the early years of the Republic of China. The elegant wooden doors of the guest house display the exquisite blend of the Chinese and Western styles of the Shanghai Concession of the 1920s. The low bay windows, the stone terraces and the courtyard planted with 70-year-old osmanthus and mango trees, as well as the fragrance of the Mexican Frangipani, make us feel as if we are stepping back in time to the good old days of Shanghai.

A LOW-KEY PRIVATE HOUSE THAT WELCOMES CLOSE FRIENDS

A discreet and unobtrusive sign on the door, and iron grey gate seal Sun-Yet Sen Mansion off from the outside world. However, from the outside you can still see the lush greenery and flowers florishing inside. Over the past 15 years, the hosts have served over 100,000 guests, some of whom have become close friends and some of whom have become friends of the house .
